Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade This exciting, annual parade hosted by Macy’s, kicks off the holiday season. Featuring colorful floats, marching bands, giant balloons and live performances, the parade begins at 77th and Central Park West and ends at Herald Square. It is one of the city’s largest holiday events and draws thousands of spectators each year. The night before the parade, you can also watch the preparations, as they inflate the giant balloons. It’s a pretty amazing spectacle!

New York Fashion Week is held in September and features fashion shows by the top designers showcasing the latest styles of the season

New York Film Festival spotlights new releases with a limited opportunity for viewing. Held from the end of September to the beginning of October, it’s a great event for any film buff.

Comic Con NYC takes over the Javits Center from during mid-October. This popular convention showcases the latest in comics, video games, movies and TV with screenings, panels and a wide array of special guests.

There’s no better place to spend Halloween than at the Village Halloween Parade. The parade winds its way from 6th Avenue north of Spring Street to 16th Street. A menagerie of giant puppets and special costumed performances can be seen in Greenwich Village and you’ll enjoy live music by over 50 bands..

The NYC Marathon is a weeklong celebration, culminating with the race on the first Sunday in November. The 26.2-mile race is run through five boroughs and draws about 50,000 runners and many cheering spectators.
